Life Drawing
I strongly believe in drawing as a vital creative skill to be continuously developed and have been regularly attended life drawing sessions in Sheffield for the last 25 years.
Drawing is the starting point for all my work. I consider it a form of visual thinking and a means to develop ways of seeing.
In my current work I use the ochre (Iron oxide) only with charcoal (carbon) and chalk (calcium carbonate), to explore the range of effects which can be created with a limited pallet, but also as these are essential components in steel making, to return to the theme of geology shaping landscape and society.
